Our Tow Preg journey started with an R&D project more then 10 years ago. The main goal was to improve some characteristics of the resin and fiber on our in-house test stand.
The synergy of practical knowledge in machine construction and results of the R&D scientific tests let us produce our first towpreg mass production solution.
As We constantly work with fiber, resin producers and satisfy different customer needs, we have developed a robust and reliable “TOW Quattro” machine easily settable and adaptable to different materials and conditions. However, we continue to improve each aspect and provide our customers with a modular structure to further upgrade machines with our latest innovations.

SEMI-STANDARD GANTRY AND ROBOTIC PLATFORM
The filament winding technique is one of the oldest manufacturing techniques for composite materials.
However, our R&D department leads various innovation projects to further improve several critical aspects, such as the removal of the negative speed in the dome zone, safety and quality assurance of pressure vessels. Moreover, a tight partnership with fiber and resin producers let us have constant feedback and keep a high pace of innovation.

SEMI-STANDARD SOLUTIONS
Comec Automated tape laying (ATL) and automated fiber placement (AFP) equipment are found in a gantry or robotic platform. Our ATL and AFP semi-standard solutions can satisfy different needs and can produce simple and very complex shapes.
To guarantee a high-quality production it is not enough to know the mechanics and CAD CAM software, there are many parameters like deposition rate, material properties, compaction force and an optimal movement of robot to decrease the stress of the system and make it productive.
